Ray-Nor Painting & Decorating Ltd. was founded in 1978, by brothers Raymond and Norman, hence the name
Ray-Nor. They started out working by themselves, quickly hiring more painters to help and now employ up to 25
painters. Office support is a total of three, with knowledgeable, long-time staff in all positions.
Ray-Nor Painting primarily works in Calgary's downtown high rises with several regular building contractor customers.
Other work includes government contracts and retail spaces within Calgary. Ray-Nor is well known and valued for their
professional quality work and on time project completion.

ALBERTA APPRENTICESHIP INVOLVEMENT
An emphasis on training has always been Ray-Nor Painting's mandate and management knows this is the key to the
company's quality finished product. The company has worked with Journeymen and Apprentice Painters since the
company's inception. Providing an apprenticeship scholarship gives the company great satisfaction and a knowing that
the painting trade will continue to improve its proffesionalism in the construction industry.

The company has been a member of the Alberta Painting Contractors Association since its inception. APCA is a
branch of the PDCA (Painters & Decorating Contractors of America).

Also, very important, Ray-Nor Painting's Safety Policy has resulted in a safety record which proves that the company
places great importance on their workers' and other's well-being and careful work practices in general.

Alberta Recycling Management Authority Ray-Nor Painting actively participates in recycling in all operations and
encourages all employee's to be good stewards of the environment in all their dealings.

World Skills 2009 Participation. One of our apprentices (now a Journeyman Painter) competed for Canada in the
World Skills Competition in the Painter & Decorator Category. A second apprentice has participated in Skills
competion at Provincial and Canada levels.
